Vegan BBQ Baked Beans

So I love salads…however I am also so a hot meal person! So I try different combinations for a “warm salad” or at least something on it. Here is a nice twist on my vegan taco salad…bbq baked beans! Homemade of course!

Vegan BBQ Baked Beans

1 can each of garbonzo beans, black beans and kidney beans

1 onion chopped

1 can tomato paste (6oz)

1/3 cup molassas

1/3 cup of maple syrup (plus to taste, I dont like things too sweet)

1 tbsp chili powder

3 cloves of garlic

1 tbsp smoked paprika

1 tbsp oregano

1 tbsp onion powder and garlic powder

salt and pepper to taste

hot sauce to taste

2/3 cup water

Combine beans and onion together in crockpot. Combine all other ingredients in a bowl first then add to the beans and onions. Cook for 6 hours on low or 2-3 hours on high. We topped my wonderful taco salad with this mix instead of meat. Enjoy!
